a Miu Miu blouse

I really liked the collar on this blouse. It's not something I'd really wear, but I was looking for items that were more out there and this Miu Miu blouse is definitely that!

The original blouse retails for NZ$801; I spent in total $28.30 on materials and 54 hours and 50 making it! About 37 of those hours went towards making the blouse and I spent 19 hours making the collar. Very time consuming!

I had made this blouse last semester and because I'm starting to run out of time I re-used it.

To start off, I painted the collar black using fabric paint and then I sewed a black ribbon around the edges of the collar to give it a tidy look

When I first bought the sequins, I bought 2 packets of royal blue sequins 6mm from Spotlight. But that wasn't enough and it only covered half of the collar. So I went back and Spotlight had run out! I bought 2 more packets of royal blue sequins from another craft shop but these were a different shade to the first lot... and it was VERY noticeable

So I went back over the first lot of sequins, sewing a few of the second lot here and there to try and give it a graded look. And I think it worked, it's not really noticeable in these photos anyway!

My sequin collar is obviously a lot messier than the original, and the original seems to use flat sequins instead of the cupped sequins I used.

I actually think this blouse is pretty cool - It's definitely out there!
